Two-Year, Full time MBA

What is a Two-Year Full Time Program?

In most cases, a two-year program consists of four semesters which are divided into two years; two semesters per year. These programs also consist of a 3-4 month internship period. As it is easy for the students to digest specialized subjects during the first year, that’s why only core modules are taught during the first year. However, in the second year, the student can go for specific specialized courses; also called functional specialization. In a full time program, students are not allowed to work full time; however, they can work part time if they wish. Full-Time programs are ideal for those students who have well-defined careers goals in their mind.

Sponsorships:

It often happens that companies send their employees to earn a master degree for various reasons. Companies that sponsor their employees for MBA program give up their services for the period of their employee’s academic program. There are many examples of these kinds of sponsorships. For instance, an employee might be send by a company for an MBA program to another country, which might play an important role in a specific business area, for a captivation experience.

Advantages of Two-Year, Full-Time Programs

 The Two-Year, Full-Time programs have got many appealing advantages; that can be realized by career starters, career shifters/switchers and career enhancers. Many students are much concerned about their future skills, jobs prospects. Full-Time programs give a chance to acquire knowledge and grasp concepts in a specific domain. For those students, who are already in the early stages of their career development, these full time programs gives them an opportunity to polish and use their skills more productively in the industry they belong to. Apart from these advantages, there are many other benefits of choosing a two-year full-time program e.g.:

Learning:

  • Two-year, Full-time programs invites students from all disciplines. Regardless of the academic background, if a student possesses an undergraduate degree (four year) that meets the business school’s standard, then he/she should apply for the program.
  • Students can learn by many means; outside the classroom as well. This is achieved by regular group meetings, seminars, practical sessions etc.
  • A two-year full time student can customize his/her coursework through different electives and concentrations.

Career Development:

Two-year Full-time MBA students do their internship which helps them in boosting their CV and gaining useful practical experience which they can use in their employment later. 

  • The students can utilize their summer vacations for broadening their business networks.
  • Students works in group and hence they make solid networks with other students having common interest and modules.

Money Matters:

Full time students can also avail the opportunity of student loan. In most cases, student loan is available for full time student only. Moreover, every school has its criteria of giving scholarships to the students; depending on their credentials. But mostly, scholarships are available for full time students only.

Limitations of Two-Year, Full-Time Programs:

There is no doubt that Full-Time programs offers many benefits to the students, however, there are some limitations of these programs which should be taken into consideration when applying for it. Some of them are:

1-      Those students who are working in an organization/company have to give up their work in order to pursue a two-year full-time degree. They should consider it only if they have adequate financial resources available, otherwise this program is not for them.

2-      If your career goals are not clear, then these programs are not for you. These programs are very expensive and demands a lot of time. So it is not advisable to waste your time and money if you are not sure what you want to do, what your goals and objectives are. If you do not focus, then it means that you are limiting the value of what you’ll acquire from the opportunity you had.

3-      If you really want to join a two-year, full-time program, then you should ensure that you have well-defined future objectives and career goals in your mind and you have adequate time and resources available. One should never go after his/her goal unless he/she makes sure that all resources are available.
