Mobile phone chip giant Qualcomm is offering a $299 mini-laptop which offers quick wireless access to the Internet via 3G (third generation) mobile telecommunications networks.
The laptop made by Taiwan’s Inventec, is small but runs on a Linux OS and according to Luis Pineda, senior vice president at Qualcomm it is better than its competitor like that of Intel and AMD. The spokesman didn’t divulge further details but said “You will see a big presence in Snapdragon-based devices at CES 2009”.
