World First Optical Pacemaker Created by Team of Scientists at Osaka University, Japan

According to an article published in Optics Express an international team of scientists at Osaka University in Japan has used world first optical pacemaker to control heart muscle cells. So far, this optical pacemaker will only be used for laboratory research. The researchers also write that this technique could be used to synchronize contractions in heart muscle cells.
