Heart is a vital organ in our body that is responsible for pumping the blood to all body parts. It also adjusts the pressure of the blood. The heart of our body, always try to adjust according to the needs of the body. When the body becomes older, then heart adjusts itself to fulfill the needs of older body. Due to these adjustments the chances of heart diseases are increased.

As humans age, the heart has to pump harder and this raises the blood pressure. Due to this overworking, the heart becomes weaker and its functioning is affected. This is why 40% people in the age range of 65 to 74 years die due to the heart diseases.

Arteries are the blood vessels which are responsible to take the oxygenated blood from the heart to all organs of the body. With the increase in age, the arteries become less flexible and stiffer. This results in the rise of blood pressure. To adjust the blood pressure, the heart starts pumping harder and its timing of the valves is changed. In this condition the heart becomes weaker and there are more chances of getting heart problems. This condition can be improved by doing regular exercise and maintaining the blood cholesterol level.
