Online photoshop tutorial - How to make a Rusty text effect with photoshop.

[1] First of start with a new file of 400 pixels by 300 pixels, then pick resolution 72 dpi in the RGB mode.

[2] Create a new layer.

[3] Fill the background with black color and
take the Rectangular Marque Tool create a
new shape as shown image below.

[4] Fill the selection with any color you like
with the help of Alt+Backspace.

[5] Now go to Filter>Noise>Add Noise
use these values.

[6] Your image will look like this.

[7] Then go to Filter>Brush Stroke>Accented Edges
apply the following settings.

[8] Your image will look like this.

[9] Then go to Filter>Brush Stroke>Spatter
apply the following settings.

[10] Your image look like this.

[11] Now take the Rectangular Marque Tool
create a new shape as shown image below.

[12] Then take the Gradient Tool
use these settings.

[13] Fill the selection with
the help of gradient tool.

[14] Then go to Filter>Brush Stroke>Accented Edges
apply the following settings.

[15] Then Press Cnlt+F 2+3 more time your
image look something like this.

[16] Now make the copy
of layer 2 as shown in
image below.

[17] Now set the shape with the help
of move tool as shown image below.

[18] Then go to Blending Option
and select the Bevel and Emboss
use these settings.

[19] Do not click ok select the
Color Overlay use these settings.

[20] Now take the Text tool create
your text use the Blending Option.

[21] Your final image should be look like this.
