This program is designed for all those professionals that are also acting as a specialist in their field and they need further management skills to boost their corporate career.

Before you apply for an Executive MBA program, please some of the following key facts about the Executive MBA program.

  • Curriculum also depends on the profession of the student.
  • Classes are spread over two academic years; Saturdays and Fridays on alternate weekends.
  • Executive MBA programs also called as EMBA offers learning beyond the boundary of the classroom and demands a lot of interaction between students and faculty members. This helps the student in broadening their professional network.

How Executive MBA differs from Full-Time MBA Program

There are few differences between the Executive MBA program and a regular Full-time (either one or two year) MBA program. Some of the differences between these two modes are mentioned here:

1-      Students of Executive MBA program don’t hold internships during their first two years as they are already employed.

2-      Unlike Full-Time MBA students, EMBA students rarely get any opportunity for specialization. They either get no or very limited chance for specialization. EMBA students take general management modules during their study, unlike Full-time MBA students who take core courses one year and in the next year they take electives.

3-      Scholarships are not available for EMBA students. They are available for Full time MBA students. However, students of EMBA program can apply for student loan through programs like GMADML (Graduate Management Admission Council’s MBA Loans).

Advantages of Executive MBA Program

EMBA programs offer many benefits to its students who are professional workers. Some of the benefits are:

  • Students of Executive MBA program usually complete their degree program in two or may be less year which is quite fast as compared to other MBA modes like Part-Time MBA program.
  • The curriculum of EMBA program is very well-formatted and structured in order to provide best possible modules in business disciplines.
  • One of the best advantages of EMBA programs is that they usually don’t demand, from their student, permanent relocation.

Limitations of EMBA:

There are some limitations of the EMBA program which should be taken under consideration before applying for this program.

  • If you are thinking about pursuing a degree in EMBA program, then make sure that you give utmost attention towards this program as it requires high level of commitments from its student.
  • It is common practice of students to put approximately 80-100 hours between their job and school.
  • The employers of EMBA students must agree to give them time so that they can attend their classes. So before applying for an EMBA program, students should consult their employer first.
  • There are very strict rules related with class attendance. Students are not allowed to bunk the classes. Because there could be as less classes as four classes per month; hence there is zero tolerance policy against absences unless there is a very genuine reason behind.
  • Most of the EMBA program students don’t take part in the career services provided by the university; rather Full-time students take part in these services. EMBA students don’t take part in these services because they are already being sponsored by the companies they work for.
