- Most of the students who are enrolled in a part-time program work outside. The schedule of their classes is set in a way that will suit them with their working hours. Usually the classes are conducted in the evening; outside the business hours. So students can easily manage the timing of their work and studies.
- Student usually learns more skills whilst continuing their employment and studies.
- Student can discuss real-world problems, related to their job, in the classroom and can find valuable solutions for them which can be implemented in their working field.

- If your employer offers you a tuition reimbursement, then part-time program is a good option to choose.

Location Benefits:
If you are unable to relocate due to any circumstances, then some of the part-time programs offer some flexibility in terms of the geographical location. This can include distance learning or a two-hour single class etc.
Disadvantages / Limitations of Part-Time MBA Program:
Although part-time programs provide many advantages to the working professionals but before applying for a part-time MBA program, one should consider the following limitations.
- Scholarship fund is not available for part time students as their academic calendar is spread out so that they can bear the expenses with the help of their full time jobs. Scholarships are only available for students enrolled on a full-time program.
- Many placement programs and other career services are available in the evening; which can’t be attended by part-time students since they have to attend their lectures in the evening. So part time students receive usually can’t avail the opportunity provided by career services.
- If often happens that you have to relocate or travel according to the requirements of your job. It makes it difficult for the student to complete their part-time MBA degree. However, there are some universities and colleges that provide a new way of learning; distance learning. With the help of distance learning, students need not to attend the classes physically, he can attend the lectures virtually; by means of videos / CDs etc. But it needs to be confirmed from their respective schools whether they are offering distance learning programs or not.
- Some students often assume that they can transfer their credits from part-time program to full-time MBA program whilst studying; it is a misconception since most of the programs don’t allow this kind of credit transfer. It needs to be confirmed from the school that represents the program students are considering to choose.
